Mark

Jesus prepared for his ministry by being baptized by John the Baptist and then began preaching in Galilee, calling people to repent and believe in the good news. He gathered a group of disciples, including Simon, Andrew, James, and John, and performed various miracles, such as healing a paralytic man, a man with a shriveled hand, and a demon-possessed girl. Jesus taught using parables, including the parable of the sower, and explained that the kingdom of God is like a seed that grows on its own. He also demonstrated his authority and power by calming a storm and walking on the lake. Jesus encountered various people, including a rich man who was unwilling to give up his wealth, and healed a blind man named Bartimaeus. He entered Jerusalem, where he was welcomed as the coming king, and then cleansed the temple, driving out those buying and selling. Jesus was questioned by the chief priests and elders about his authority, but he refused to answer, instead telling parables and criticizing the teachers of the law for their hypocrisy. Jesus predicted his own death and resurrection, and after being betrayed by Judas, he was arrested, tried, and crucified. However, on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, appearing to his disciples and commissioning them to preach the gospel to all creation.
