Habakkuk

The book of Habakkuk begins with the prophet questioning God about the prevalence of violence and injustice, and why the wicked seem to prosper while the righteous suffer. God responds by revealing His plan to use the Babylonians to punish the wicked, but Habakkuk then questions why God would use such a wicked nation to execute judgment. The prophet is instructed to write down a revelation that warns of judgment on the wicked and describes their ultimate punishment, while also contrasting the lifeless idols with the living God. Habakkuk recalls God's past mighty deeds and asks Him to renew them in the present, expressing his trust in God and resolving to rejoice in Him despite current difficulties.
