Malachi
The Lord expresses His love for Israel, contrasting it with His hatred for Esau, and warns Edom of their impending destruction. He rebukes the priests for offering polluted sacrifices and for corrupting the covenant of Levi, resulting in a curse upon them and their offspring. The Lord also condemns Judah for being faithless, marrying foreign women, and profaning the sanctuary. He rebukes the people for being faithless to their wives and for saying that evil is good in His sight. The Lord promises to send a messenger to prepare the way for His coming, and He will purify the people like a refiner's fire, making them bring offerings in righteousness. He will judge those who have turned away from His statutes and punish those who oppress the weak. The people are encouraged to bring full tithes to the storehouse, promising a blessing in return. Ultimately, a day of judgment is coming when the wicked will be destroyed, but those who fear God's name will experience healing and rise with the sun of righteousness.
