Matthew

The book of Matthew tells the story of Jesus' life, from his genealogy and birth to his death and resurrection. Jesus begins his ministry, preaching repentance and the kingdom of heaven, and gathers disciples, including Peter, Andrew, James, and John. He teaches about the characteristics of those who will inherit the kingdom of heaven, the importance of inner purity and love for one's enemies, and the need to forgive others. Jesus performs many miracles, including healing the sick, casting out demons, and feeding large crowds. He also teaches about the kingdom of heaven through parables, including the parable of the sower, the mustard seed, and the net gathering fish. Jesus predicts his own death and resurrection, and is eventually betrayed by Judas, arrested, and crucified. However, on the third day, Jesus rises from the dead, and appears to his disciples, giving them authority to make disciples of all nations and to baptize and teach them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
