2 Timothy

Paul expresses gratitude for Timothy's faith and reminds him to remain committed to the gospel, even in the face of suffering. He instructs Timothy to entrust his teachings to faithful men and to be strengthened by God's grace, using analogies of a soldier, athlete, and farmer to emphasize discipline and hard work. Paul warns against quarreling over words and encourages Timothy to present himself as a worker approved by God. He also describes the characteristics of people in the last days, who will be self-centered and lacking in self-control, and encourages believers to continue in their faith, grounded in the sacred writings. Paul charges Timothy to preach the word and updates him on the whereabouts of colleagues, while also warning him about opposition and expressing gratitude for the Lord's support.
