Ezekiel
The book of Ezekiel is a prophetic account of God's judgment on Israel and the surrounding nations for their sins and idolatry. The prophet Ezekiel is called by God to speak to the rebellious house of Israel, warning them of impending judgment and destruction if they do not turn from their wicked ways. Ezekiel is given visions of God's glory and the destruction of Jerusalem, and is instructed to act out symbolic exiles and judgments to demonstrate God's wrath. The book also contains allegories and parables, such as the two eagles and the vine, and the two sisters, Oholah and Oholibah, which represent the kingdoms of Judah and Israel. God promises to restore the house of Israel and bring them back to their land, but only after they have been purified and judged for their sins. The book concludes with a vision of a new temple and a restored Israel, where God will dwell among His people and be their God.
