2 Timothy
Paul writes to Timothy, expressing gratitude for his faith and reminding him to utilize his spiritual gift and not be ashamed to testify about their Lord. He urges Timothy to be strong in Christ's grace, entrust the gospel to reliable men, and endure hardship, while avoiding worldly affairs and quarreling over words. Paul warns against evil desires and encourages Timothy to pursue righteousness and gently instruct those who oppose him. He notes that in the last days, people will be characterized by self-love and a lack of self-control, but those who want to live a godly life will face persecution. Paul charges Timothy to preach the Word, correct and rebuke others, and be patient, as people will eventually reject sound doctrine. He reflects on his own life, awaiting the crown of righteousness, and requests Timothy's presence, while warning him to be on guard against those who oppose their message.
