1 Peter

The book of 1 Peter is a letter to believers scattered throughout various regions, reminding them of their new birth into a living hope through Jesus Christ's resurrection. They are encouraged to live holy lives, rid themselves of malice and deceit, and crave spiritual nourishment to grow in their salvation. Believers are called to submit to authority, live as servants of God, and show respect to everyone, following Christ's example of suffering for doing good. The letter also provides instructions for wives and husbands, and for believers to live in harmony with one another, repaying evil with blessings. It concludes by encouraging believers to live according to God's will, be prepared for judgment, and to stand firm in their faith, even in the face of suffering, knowing that God will restore and strengthen them.
