And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

And he said to them: "For so it is written, and so it was necessary, for the Christ to suffer and to rise up from the dead on the third day
