And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small of stature.

He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.

And he sought to see Jesus, to see who he was. But he was unable to do so, because of the crowd, for he was small in stature
