John
The book of John tells the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Jesus is introduced as the Word, who is God and the source of life and light, and he begins gathering his disciples, including Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathanael. Jesus performs various signs and miracles, including turning water into wine, healing a man born blind, and raising Lazarus from the dead, which lead many to believe in him. However, he also faces opposition from the Pharisees and other Jewish leaders, who seek to arrest and kill him. Jesus teaches his disciples about the importance of loving one another and following his commandments, and he promises to send the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort them after he is gone. Jesus is eventually arrested, tried, and crucified, but he is resurrected on the third day and appears to his disciples, giving them the Holy Spirit and instructing them to care for his followers. The book concludes with Jesus' final appearance to his disciples, where he instructs Peter to care for his followers and foretells his own death.
