Joel
The land is devastated by a severe locust infestation, destroying crops and leaving the people without food or drink offerings for the Lord. The people are called to lament and mourn, and the Lord calls them to return to him with fasting, weeping, and mourning, promising to relent from disaster if they do. The people repent and the Lord has pity on them, promising to restore the years the locusts have eaten and to pour out his Spirit on all flesh. God will also gather all nations to judge them for their actions against Israel, punishing them for scattering and dividing His people, and ultimately avenging the blood of His people and dwelling in Zion.
