Revelation

Jesus Christ commissions John to write down a vision of himself and send it to the seven churches in Asia, describing his divine nature and power. Jesus then speaks to the churches, commending them for their perseverance and faith, but also rebuking them for various shortcomings, warning them to repent and return to their first love. The scene shifts to a vision of a throne in heaven, where a figure resembling jasper and carnelian is surrounded by 24 elders and four living creatures, who continually praise God. A scroll sealed with seven seals is presented, but no one is found worthy to open it, until the Lamb, representing Jesus, appears and takes the scroll, prompting worship and praise from the four living creatures, the elders, and countless angels. The Lamb opens the seven seals, each bringing a different consequence, including war, economic hardship, death, and widespread destruction. The seventh seal is opened, resulting in silence in heaven, after which seven angels are given seven trumpets, each causing destruction. The scene shifts to a vision of the final judgment, where the beast and the false prophet are captured and thrown into the fiery lake, and the rest are killed by the sword from the rider's mouth. An angel binds Satan for a thousand years, and those who had been martyred for their faith in Jesus come to life and reign with Christ. After the thousand years, Satan is released and gathers the nations for battle, but they are devoured by fire from heaven, and Satan is thrown into the lake of burning sulfur. A great white throne judgment then occurs, where the dead are judged according to their deeds, and those whose names are not in the book of life are thrown into the lake of fire. The book concludes with a vision of a new heaven and a new earth, where God dwells with humanity, wiping away tears, and eliminating death, mourning, and pain.
